Other Stuff Part II
Of course one of the great things about traveling is meeting local folks. I've met some great people along the way, but not as much as I'd like, since my main focus has been wildlife or diving. When you visit Kenya and Tanzania, it's pretty easy to meet a lot of Masai since they're are often sharing their homelands with protected wildlife areas, and many are employed by local safari camps. In northern Namibia, I met nomadic Himba tribes out in the desert, and one of my safari guides spoke one of the "click" languages. In remote parts of Asia you meet so many great and different people, from traditional fishermen in rural Myanmar, to native tribespeople in the highlands of Papua New Guinea.
