Another trip! I spent most of May in Zimbabwe and Zambia... often called "ZimZam" by travelers.  It was my first time in both countries - only getting a taste of them. May is right on the cusp of the high season, when things start to dry out and the animals become more visible as they start looking for water. So in general wildlife sightings were a bit slower than I was used to later in summer months.  That said, my time at Kavinga Camp in Zimbabwe was fun and productive - spent mostly with great bird life, elephants, baboons, and impala. All of which were present inside the camp at one time or another -including the elephants - which made things interesting. After 6 days at Kavinga, it was time to move on to Zambia.  It was an adventure getting from Mana Pools National Park Zimabwe over to Zambia. A total of 3.5 hrs on rutted road in two different vehcles to the border crossing, then another hour or so to the Zambezi River for a 3 hour speed boat ride to  Kutali camp in Zambia. Whew....  quite a day. In Zambia, things picked up quite a bit with leopards, lions, hyenas, and wild dogs in addition to the same suspects I found in Zimbabwe. They all kept me pretty busy. I visited Lower Zambezi and  South Luangwa National parks in Zambia, staying in three great camps.  I had some amazing adventures and sightings in both countries, some of the highlights of which are included in the slide show below. I hope you enjoy seeing the images. (Click on any to bring up a full view, and then you can scroll the slide show.) I'm cobbling together some video from the trip as well, which I will add soon. Thanks for stopping by.
